I am waiting for my full tubi exhaust for the F50 and was wondering if the ECU needs to be remapped in order to take advantage of the new exhaust (from header to silencer). Can anyone share their experience and expertise on this subject matter.

as per thread in oz section...

    I don't think it's worth anything on F50.

The 2.7 Motronic is good for power and drivability.

Most cars yield 5-7%. These guys are very good, and I've used them. But only 15BHP for F50 is not worth chasing IMO

Where did you purchase your Tubi system from Nick?

I bought it from Manu in the UK. He is the official dealer for Tubi. By the way, I got one more question. As far as I know, by changing to high-flow exhaust system, backpressure will be reduced, resulting in more air flowing into the engine. I was wondering if the stock ECU will adjust the air/fuel mixture accordingly so as to achieve better engine performance. (If not, hence the need to remap the ecu to do so)????? Finally, I have read many different opinions about backpressure=low-end torque. Anyone wants to share their experience/opinion.

Lambda sensors and air flow meters will sort out mixtures fine... so long as they work fine and inlet system has no air leaks.

Back pressure helps drivability down low, but F50 has ample torque and you'll notice big gains throughout with the full system fitted.
