I will be installing the factory racing exhaust on my 2004 spider. (Along with a friend) For any of you that have done this yourselves, was there much to replacing/installing the new ECUs? Or is that fairly straightforward? I have removed the engine bay covers on both sides and believe I'm staring at the ECU's right there in the open.

    Thanks,
    David

Why not try it with the same ECU's you have in the car. You do know that if you use the new ECU you're going to have to pair it with your alarm remotes right? You'll probably need your pin for it.

Sounds like I've nothing to lose by trying my existing ECUs. I purchased the exhaust through Tampa Ferrari, and the parts guy indicated that no further programming to the ECU's was nesseary. I challenged him on that indicating that I thought he needed my VIN and alarm code which he said was unnecessary. Go figure....
I thought the updated ECUs would also bring additional changes in timing and fuel mixture aspects. Go figure... Thanks for the help. Lastly, are the exhaust ECU's located in the engine bay as shown in the attached picture? Thanks again! Image Unavailable, Please Login
