Both Vivid Racing and Novitec offer add on tuning kits that mount between the sensors and the ECU without changing the ECU. Does anybody have experience with either of these. I am concerned about negative effects - blown engines, degraded engines, etc. These seem quite attractive but I don't want to put a $100k engine at risk.

I'm very curious about this myself. Can any one shed light on Ferrari's willingness to warranty mechanical issues after an ECU flash?

Recommend you consider having Openflash Performance do the tune for you. He did mine and it's outstanding. He offers a variety of different options, at reasonable prices. And he provides you with a programmer that you can plug into your car after the tune is done, and perform updates/modifications using emails he will send you. Lastly, he is a sponsor on F-chat. You shouldn't really worry about blowing your engine up running them - but you won't get the results you'd get from a bench flash tune such as ours, OpenFlash, or Mase. They feed your sensors different data in order to change parameters - rather than actually changing the parameters properly through the ECU. Give me a shout if I can help with any specific questions you have!

Can the Ferrari techs tell that you had your ECU flashed even after you have flashed back to the original/OEM tune?

Nope. Have had 3 cars with NR ecu remap.
They can't tell and I've never faced a single issue
