    Does anyone have a picture of Irv with his 288? I met him at the Glen over the weekend and remember a picture from quite a few years ago of him w/the car. I wanted to show that picture to my father. (I told him the story of Irvine complaining to Montezemolo about the high prices for parts while he was still at Jordan,)

    yes, this was at the Glen. I got his autograph and spent about ten minutes talking to him. (while his hot girlfriend sat silently by). Here is a photo.

    my uncle is duncan dayton, his car is mario's 78 john player special. the one that only did 2 laps because of problems

    LOL - knowing Irv's history, she probably didn't make it to the end of the race. Here is a picture of Mario's car. I saw it at the Glen in 1978 when I was 10 years old. Still one of the most beautiful F1 cars ever. Your Uncle i slucky to own such a great piece of history. Now, if I see the Tyrell 6-wheeler, that would be awesome...........

    haha thats funny, i have all the same pics you have. the one you took of my uncles car i must have been standing there right around that time. because it sat there for a min or 2 then put in the semi. my dad and uncle also where at the glen in 78. o yeah and i almost got to drive that gt.

    Who owened the CGT? I figured it was one of the Historic F1 drivers cars. It was about 45 minutes before the IRL race (our seats were in the Pit terrace)

    The ex-Irvine 288 is up for sale if anyone is interested. It came onto the market about 4 years ago and it has had a lot of time and money spent since though and is now very good.
