I've been a huge fan of the 355's since they came out in what, 1994? Never owned a Ferrari, but have done some research. I'm not wealthy, but make a decent living. How are the maintenance costs on these vehicles? Reliability? If I purchase one, I'll be driving it on weekends... and driving quite a bit... up to 8,000 miles/year. BTW: This is my first post, so take it easy on the new guy! Basically, I need a thorough education on these cars.
After owning my 355 since 2000, I would say ya need to put away about $1500 per year for proper maintaince. That allocates $7500 every 5 years for an engine out, plus ??. There will be other small things that will need to be repaired ( I need to fix a seat potentiometer at this time) but with the help of our Fchat bretehen, I can fix it for ...say $150 bucks instead of the $900 that Ferrari wants. If you are mechanically inclined and can do some of your own work, it will save a bundle. I leave the big jobs to the pros,I have other cars to play with. But small projects give me something to do. Darrell.
First step is to learn how to use the search function as this is a fairly regular question One of the first things it should lead you to is www.the355.com where many of your questions will be answered thereafter a trawl through the many many threads here will tell you everything your 'research' hasn't ! PS this is 'going easy' ......
