Does anyone have experience installing and using Electric Power steering from EZ Power Steering from the Netherlands in their 308 GT4 or 308/328?

They have an installation manual for 308/328 but none for 308 GT4. Steering column components look almost identical.

Is their the same room under dash and in front trunk (for Motor etc) in GT4 vs. 308/328?

Would be interested to hear how it affects the feeling through the wheel.

that is kinda cool... I translated this review from an owner with a Daytona coupe -

Beginning of June 2010 was installed in my FERRARI 365 GTB / 4 DAYTONA your electric power steering.

Your prospectuses and trade fairs have not promised too much. The result is simply fantastic. My expectation attitude was fully met.

The Ferrari reacts to steering angles while standing still or at slow speeds supported by the electric power steering very effective and convincing.

The heavy 12-cylinder engine to the front axle is barely noticeable. This was in the garage or parking been a big problem.

"The ride on the road and on the highway was due to the speed-sensitive steering assistance, agreeable and not "too easy". Contact with the road you can not lose.

All in all, can a successful thing that ichjedem driver of a similar vehicle only recommend. I should have done it much earlier."

Theoretically, you could reduce steering effort by reducing the caster angle of your front uprights. This should be pretty simple to do too, as there are a bunch of shims there (#9 and #10 in the diagram). Put the uprights more upright (no pun intended) by moving the #9 shims that are now sitting on the front side to the back side and/or the #10 from the back to the front. Less Caster angle means less steering effort (and some other side effects on handling, which should not be too dramatic with the differences in Caster angles that we are talking about here).

I don't know if anyone has ever tried this yet??

I haven't tried it on my Ferrari, but I did try it on a old corvette. It does reduce low speed steering effort. The con to this however is lack of caster creates a very unstable feeling at highway speeds, and makes the car very sensitive to any steering input above 60 mph.

I personally dont like tooling around parking lots at 5mph, but do enjoy a nice two lane backroad, so I put it back. Turns out those engineers did know something.

The elec assist should turn off at speeds greater than a few mph. That way it gets used when needed and doesnt change the drive behavior at higher speeds.

How did you go with this? Did you install it in your 308 GT4? Where did you find the installation manual? I couldn't see on their website. Thanks
