The passenger window on my 348 will not go up when either the driver's or passenger's switch is used. I pulled off the passenger's door inside panels to get at the connector that the power window switch fits into. I checked the wiring diagram and then using an ohm meter, I checked the function of the switch: it appears to be functioning properly. Then I checked the wires leading into the connector.

DATA: 1. The center wire has a voltage of 12.5 V, which is consistant with the wiring diagram.
    2. I checked the resistance between the two outside wires on the connector, which are suppose to be attached to power window motor. I got about 2 ohm resistance.
    3. I checked the resistance for the ground wire for lowering compared to ground and found essentially zero ohms resistance.
    4. I checked the resistance for the ground wire for raising the window compared to ground and found 180 ohms resistance.
    5. For the latter ground wire, I checked the resistance between the connector and the female pin connector in the door jam and found essentially zero resistance.
    6. I checked the resistance between the corresponding male pin connector in the door jam and ground and found the resistance to be about 20 ohms.

    ANALYSIS:
It looks like I have the classical poor contact between the connectors in the door jam, BUT it seems that I have some type of ground problem for the ground wire in question. Based on the wiring diagram, it looks like both the window raising and lowering grounds are supposed to be connected to the same ground, so why does one show very low resistance and the problem one show 20 ohms resistance.
I guess in the short term I can wire a battery directly to the leads that attach to the window motor to raise it, but how do I solve this resistive connection to the ground. If if were an open circuit at the connector, it would make sense, but 20 ohms doesn't make sense to me.

Thanks for the electrical expertise. Jim

I've never seen this particular installation but I think the high resistance may have developed between the pin in the connecor and the wire that actualy connects from it to the ground pint. If the back of the connector is visible check for corrosion in the crimp where the wire is joined to the pin
