458 electrical system failure

just received my car, and i got this message at startup with the wheel LEDs blinking. i toggle the windshield wiper button a couple times and the message goes away and drives fine. i haven't been able to drive the car other than on way home due to poor weather here. when i got home, i shut it off and started it back up, and no error message.. i plugged it into the charger and left it sit for a few hours, started it back up, and the message came up again.. toggled windshield a couple times and it went away. any ideas?

2012 Spider 6200mi. brand new battery.

i've read about short starts and stops possibly causing this.. i think the driver had to load, unload it a couple times this week. it's also cold here, but came from Florida. was picked up monday, delivered friday (today). maybe a goofy sensor or something? all the electricals seem to work just fine.
