Does anyone have any experience and can vouch for any actual HP increase, (not drivability, cold starting, or fuel economy) when converting any 308, but preferably a 2v injected, to electronic fuel injection/ignition such as Electromotive? I know some owners of other cars that claim horsepower increases of up to 25 when converting to an Electromotive FI/Ignition system. Although I am sure this has been discussed on other threads, I cannot find any actual testimonials.
Any firsthand imput would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I'm second hand, but as I understand it, a primative FI that is tuned for emissions will under perform to carbs because at the time they had to make do to meet regulations. It took the industry several years to get a FI system to be superior, and of course modern FI runs rings around carbs. Your question is really if Electromotive makes the cut my hunch is that you trade off a plus in reliability for not a lot on HP. I'm also curious what the experienced people have to say!

The issue here is the CIS injection system has a mechanical mass flow sensor buggering up the air flow and anything you do that removes it helps.

On my QV I added a supercharger at the same time I did the EFI upgrade, so my numbers for just EFI aren't perfect, but I can get close. The factory clain is 235hp but rarely does one actually make that number. Post EFI the math said the engine had to be making at least 260 hp to give me the dyno numbers I saw at the boost I had.

I don't think the gain will be as large on a 2Vi car unless you install the early (76-77) carb cams at the same time.

New motor has 210hp at rear wheels with stock cams and high comp pistons.

When I did the conversion with the stock motor the butt dyno told me it ran better . .. didn't actually get any numbers . .. like I've said over and over on here . .. on that car more timing helps a ton.

Not sure what your time frame is but I'm contemplating where or not to do an EFI swap on the other 308 I have . .. if I do I'll do back to back dyno runs on that car . .. from what I can tell the only thing that seems messed us is the warm up regulator and I've fixed these before . .. definitely want to add more advance and the Haltech let's you do this with the stock triggers, dizzy's, and coils for about $1200 plus labor and you can add the fuel injection later. Also don't know if you're aware but I have made adapters that will mount electronic fuel injectors in a 2V manifold without any mod's . .. layed out the 4V and prototyed it but not owning one stalled that project :).

Ken . .. regarding realiability . . I think you posted one time about the lack of onboard diagnostics . ... . +10 . .. I've had my system in for a couple years now . .. had some bugs in the beginning but has worked flawlessly for about 18 months . . . then I got an occasional miss at WOT after changing to colder plugs . .. of course I thought it was something to do with the plugs . . .miss got worse and worse and after a couple days of fiddlling (could of been weeks if you're not familiar with this stuff) it was a broken wire on the crank tirgger . . .one of the only things that would strand you and the SOB did just that . . . fixed now but it was hard to find because the break was intermittent at first. I bought a backup ECU to isolate external problems like that so I can just swap it if/when I have issues again.
