Hope this is in the right forum... And let me ofically say howdy. Being as I'm a noob here. ;)

My uncle has a 2000 360 modena. He's also got some issues, but that's beside the point... Any ways he picked up a heads up display system that displays speed. He's had a few issues with it, but my big issue is it looks like poop sitting up on the dash. So in talking we were wondering about a steering wheel like F1 uses. Something that has a display on it. Specifically for speed. It'd be nice to have a system of LEDs on it to indicate RPMs too.
Does such thing exhist? I've seen similar wheels in racecars, but nothing in the aftermarket yet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even if your a fabricator and think you could build one, lets talk...

I just briefly read about the system, and I'm a bit confused. Willl this system hook into the stock ECU, or is it a stand alone?

Stand alone, but hooks onto existing cables to get its readings. The Farringdon system above is for use with single seaters so the wheel is WAY too small for a 360 and as you can see the display is part of the wheel.

Not sure about why you want this, single seaters use them because the wheels are small, with 2 hands in the way you cant see the dash area very well and you only use about 180deg of lock left and right. With a road car you dont have the issue of seeing the clocks and you need about 1000deg of steering movement which means your display will be rotating all over the place (which has the obvious issues but also wiring related problems).

Also the closer your dash readout is to you the more your eyes take time to re-focus from down the road to close up etc and you will have to look down to the 360's wheel centre whereas a single seaters wheel is virtually infront of you.

Much better to have a real "heads up display" where the speed etc is projected onto the windscreen so it looks like it is floating in the air at the front of the car. BMW have developed a system like this for the 5-Series I believe.

If you really want a steering wheel speedo then a simple option would be to use a Bluetooth GPS receiver and PocketPC stuck onto your wheel. A simple-ish piece of software could then display your speed.

^^^ Ricard, I totally agree. I'm not really sure why he's so concerned about knowing speed, but it's not my car so I can't interject to strongly. He's got a HUD right now that dosen't work corectly, is had to read, and looks like krap taped to the dash...!
So I guess my new question is, where do I find a "GOOD" heads up display? Something that's easy to read, will piggy back the existing electronics, and looks like it should be there..?

IMO "looks like it should be there" = "build something yourselves"

My folks 06 Z06 has a HUD. it works well in most all lighting conditions, and is sunk into the dash. Does anyone have a PDF of the dash assembly (for an 02 360) I could take a look at see if there's room to fabricate a HUD into? And anyone have recomendations on where to start searching for a good HUD?

There are quite a few folks who have put HUD's into Corvettes that didnt come with them from the factory and say it's relatively simple. But the car is also wired up for it......
