Well, my ebay 308 ('82) is a heck of a lot nicer car now than it was when I picked it up - have cleaned and sorted out a lot of obviously neglected things. She runs good and is actually in very nice basic mechanical condition with a) great oil pressure, b) no smoke on start up/accel, c) recent belts/bearings/wp, d) no clunks or creaks, e) no leaks (not one!), f) shifts well, g) solid body with no visible rust/issues, etc. She needs some brake work and some tidying up in the engine bay and I'll do this over the next month or so.

One thing that is puzzling is the electrovalve on the left side (driver's side) of the intake plenum looks to have three ports for small diameter vacuum lines but only has two lines hooked up to it. Just about four or five inches father to the rear there's a small blockish looking device (perhaps 2" square) that also looks to have a vacuum line port with no vacuum line attached. I'll take a few pics this evening and post.

Any suggestions as to what vacuum line is potentially missing here would be much appreciated. Someone have a schematic of the EGR/emissions/vacuum systems? The car feels like it runs just a little lean so perhaps this is somehow letting air into the intake.

    Thanks!

This is normal for most (if not all) of the electrovalve uses -- the third port (with no hose) is "connected" to the atmosphere.

It serves as a vacuum dump and needs to be left open.

Super. Thank you fellas, makes sense.

Somewhere in the plenum or vacuum system I think there's a leak so I'll keep searching. She runs better and better the more she's driven (wasn't driven much at all in the last 10 years) which is great. I'll change the injectors for the heck of it and that might give me a chance to look for a vacuum leak somewhere.

    Thanks again!
