A couple of years ago, my son & I went to the whole race weekend at Spa. The elevation change doesn't display nearly as well on TV as it does in person. It seemed huge. By the way, the reports of it being a beautiful facility are completely true. The Ardenne forest is quite scenic & some of it is present within the interior of the circuit.
When I go to Google Earth & check the elevation differences, all I can get is about 345 ft, but it seems a lot more than that.
Are there any circuits that have a greater change in altitude?
(Yes, I know, I can use G E to check the rest of them too, but I'm getting ready to head to Italy to visit the Ferrari factory, etc, and don't have time to look at them all.)

It is a beautiful track and the elevation changes are much more stunning in person.

Here is a shot I managed to snatch on my recent flight from London to Budapest. The sun was setting, so there wasn't much light, but the track is still visible.

The thing that is difficult at Spa for the visitors is to find accomodation: The nearest bigger cities are at least a couple of hours drive away, which makes it quite inconvenient. When I visited the track, nothing was going on, so it wasn't an issue, but I wouldn't want to attend a GP in person there.

Do they allow camping at the circuit? Or anywhere close?

    Yes, camping is no problem.

I'm just too old for that kind of travel. :)

I haven't been there but the "old" Zeltwig and the Nordschleife seem to have a lot of elevation change.

Stateside Laguna Seca ,Road America and Road Atlanta come to mind.
Having driven Road Atlanta and Atlanta Motor Speedway in a race car you're correct . Television doesn't do any of these circuits justice.
