So I'm getting ready to head on up to Elkhart Lake this weekend for the VSCDA races and vintage festival like I do every year, when I notice this link on one of the websites: www.hrc60th.com

Ok, so either I've had my head in the sand or this 60th Anniversary Celebration really should have been advertised more. Seriously - some of the actual cars from the original races are going to be there? You can check it our on the web link above, but here are just a few of the cars that are registered to be in the town of Elkhart Lake on Saturday for the show and reenactment. (And this is going on in addition to the vintage races at the track.) Glad I stumbled into this one!

Very cool, I think I may head up there with my GF. I've done track days there but have never spectated.

My mom grew up in Sheboygan and remembers her brother taking her to the road races (pre-Road America) in Elkhart. I'd love to be able to go--Sunday's my birthday, too!

I was there and it was amazing to see the cars & people that came.

I had the privilege to participate in the 'Re-creation' laps on the road circuit! and Thank you to those that helped make it possible. Even though my car may arguably may not 'belong' in an event like this, Tony took the time to talk to me a bit about what I've done car related and my car and he granted me the opportunity to join!! The gravity of what we were doing was definitely felt and got chills while following that Triumph while hitting 'speed' on some straights and giving the turns their just deserve in honor of the cars many years ago that preceded us.

-JAMES! did you make it up there? John

    Here's pics I took from another thread I posted ...... http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=139897057&postcount=6

A great time it definitely was on those roads and hopefully gave the curb-side people a show! I would've loved to have seen the vintage cars wheel around some of those turns. That Triumph & I were 100+ several times and the big brakes were put to use :)
