In this case Elvis was my antifreeze and it performed an Alcatraz type escape. Decided while I was there to replace the two other nearby as well.

Is there anything I need to know when replenishing the system regarding evacuating the air? Image Unavailable, Please Login

I would contact Dave Helms at Scuderia Ramparte in Colorado for top quality hoses he has had made.

I think would prevent this type issue again

I've just made a note to have a set of silicone hoses made st the end of the season.

There isn't anything unusual about the car: fill, and leave the cap off for a few minutes when you first start in order to let any trapped air escape.

Have a look at Dans u tube video on changing the coolant, he has a good tip on doing this. He puts the front tyres on blocks and then tips up the rear a lot.

No he does not; he does that to empty the system, but he has the car on all 4 wheels when he pours the coolant in... I re-watched it...
I just had to make sure I replenish 2 times after heating up the engine and let it cool down, it will self bleed. Just be patient....

I also had the "petcocks" of on both radiators, and blew into the reservoir with my mouth (I know, crazy :) ) and I heard a lot more coolant getting out after it stopped leaking on it's own... I did that until I only heard air coming out of them. Don't swallow coolant though :)

Use a vacuum filler/airlift. It's the best way. Pretty much zero chance of getting an air pocket.

I have not seen it for a while but with the rads in the front it must sure help to get some of the air out of the system.
