    To Whomever it concerns,

When i went down to the store today to buy my favourite mags for the month (evo was one of them) i spent $32. $32 is about the equivalent to 18 GBP. This may not seem like a lot, but to a 16 year old who looks forward to reading them every few weeks i was shocked when i saw that the price of EVO had risen to $9.99. I bought 4 magazines today, 3 were English, one American. So overall i spent $27 on 3 mags that i love and get almost every month, and i am upset to say that EVO was not one of them.

I can understand that it must cost a lot to ship the magazines out here but 10 bucks for a magazine is rediculous. I remembered a story that was posted on a message board a few months ago. The story goes that a person went to his local supermarket/deli and saw a pile of EVO mags, as he went over he noticed something about it. "Maxim Presents" above the bar code and the price? $3.99. This is unbelievable. The fact that EVO is or was avaliable for $3.99, yet you are now charging $9.99 is highly unprofessional. I'm sorry, but you've lost a reader here. The pictures can be found here: http://www.drstranglove.com/upload/imgs/b%20ar%20code.jpg and http://www.drstranglove.com/upload/imgs/Copy%20of%20File0001.jpg . They are not mine, i take no credit for the pictures.

    Octane - $8
Classic and Sports car - $9 (interesting side note - it says overseas 3.55 pounds which is equal to 6.37403 USD but it says for USA to be sold for 8.99)
    Classic cars - $8.25
Excelence - $5 or somehting like that.

Unbelievable. I wanted evo but i figgured that i'm getting a lot more in the other mags for less price

European magazines will always be more expensive because of the smaller market. Now, with the dollar losing 25% in value, you can expect the prices to rise. $ 10 for a good magazin is still better than $ 2 for a bad one.

No I'm not kidding, at least not for my magazines, but then I only subscribe to Car and Driver, Automobile and Road and Track, I never did bother with the car specific magazines as I get Forza, Bimmer and Excellence free.

EVO offers a 28% discount on subscription
Octane is $10 per year (8 issues) not certain if this is the same Octane you are refering to though.
Classic and Sports Car has a 23% discount on subscription
Classic Car does one year for £34.20 (12 issues, price of 9)
Excellence is $23 a year (US) $36 a year (Rest of World except Canada)

So yeah, for those magazines I suppose I was kidding.

Is it maybe a profit-hungry importer buying them cheap and marking them up by sticking a label over it?

May not be (entirely) EVO's fault.

The "Maxim Presents" Part is printed on. Besides, why buy the mags for $7.99 and then sell them on for $3.99? It doesn't make sense
