    hi I may be being a bit thick here went to start my 82 mondial eight the battery was dead flat obviously the electric release would not work consulted the manual which is in Italian but it shows a picture of emergency pull release by the steering wheel but I just cant find it on my car been under dash with torch but I cant see it. the diagram is of a lhd I searched the other side also but nothing can someone point me in the right direction ???

    I don't know about your car but on my RHD 360 the emergency release is available just under the glovebox on the passenger side. It's possible to just see it through the crack in the hinge when the glovebox is open. Hope this is of assistance.

    The pull cord (with small handle on the end) should be there under the dash and in the area of the steering wheel. You should also be able to get at the battery via the front wheel arch (wheel off and front arch liner out).

    Both emergency pulls on my car (308) are missing and need to be replaced.

    I wonder if this is more common than we realize.

    well got it sorted today still could not find the emergency release . but through the vents in the bonnet I could see the top of the battery so I wrapped some insulation tape around two bits of threaded rod passed them through the vents onto each terminal connected a jump pack and my 4 year old son pressed the release button and hey presto !!
