Hi all. Anyone that knows were the emergency cable for the engine lid lock passes through the glass fiber bulkhead between the engine room and the trunk? A picture will be great.

    Regards

    Peter

Interesting. On RHD cars it is on the opposite side of the bulkhead.

Indeed, can't think of a good reason why it should be different.

It would be nice to think that the designer of this anomaly was thinking of a scenario where the driver was alone, it was dark, the normal engine release had failed and it would make life easier for right hand drivers to find the pull on the drivers side. But then again, that's not really consitant with the rest of the Dino design considerations ....;-)
May be the original intension was to have some physical link of the emergency pull to the rear of the normal lever panel inside the cabin. Who knows.... perhaps we should have a thread of unsolved Dino anomalies to chip away at.

Given Matthias' elegant explanation - the release pulls are behind the driver - that means the latch release wire would come in from the driver's side. The latch itself would be reversed. The emergency release would have to be pulling from that direction. Thus, the wire going toward the driver's side of the trunk.
