    There is the main trunk release cable that goes through a metal tube to the trunk latch cable clamp. There is the emergency cable inside the gas filler flap that goes through a metal tube and ends up at the trunk latch. Does the emergency cable go through the same clamp as the main cable? Seems like the only option but it enters the clamp at a sharp angle.

    Kevin, thanks for the pic. I was pretty sure that is how it is done. I looked at a ton of restoration pics and I could see everything but this!

    from memory, the pipe was brazed to the steel frame, not welded, I guess reducing the chance of damaging the tube inside...

    The "pull handle" on mine are metal ferruled, white sheathed bicycle brake line that has been bent in a loop.
    I believe they are original but would be interesting to hear

    I knew there was a reason why I spent all that time cleaning up prior overspray and re-used them
    otherwise I might feel foolish....LoL
    :)
