I heard the news that Lamboorghini bought Ducati to keep european emission standards, also Aston Marin build small Cygnet to fill emissions standards, what about Ferrari? I heard that they test V6 turbo in California, Who chose the better solution Lambo or Ferrari?

I'm not an expert, so take this with a grain of salt, but I heard that since Fiat owns a majority of Ferrari that Ferrari wouldn't have to average out to any CO2 requirements. There's a loophole that allows Fiat to "share" its CO2 emissions with Ferrari, or something like that.

On the other hand, wasn't Ferrari working on a 599 hybrid at one point?

I don't know if car & bike emissions can be combined - happy to be told - but the simple answer to Lambo buying Ducati is probably that the bureaucracy would be much easier in Italy for one Italian registered firm to buy another

So Lamborghini owns Ducati. Audi owns Lamborghini. Does VW own Audi or do they just share everything and how does Bugatti fit into all this. It's owned by VW as well eh? And Porsche is being pulled in tighter under the VW umbrella. I wonder when we'll see a Ducati with the 2.0 TSi in it. That would be a bike that would scare the daylights out of me. :D

And whatever happened with the ol W12? Like watching a soap opera trying to keep track of who is putting their engine under what hood.
