You are likely already aware of this, but today I called
to renew the EPA waivers for my cars and I was told
that they only test 95 and over now !!

Great news for all classic car owners.

    Gene, congrats on the Boxer.
    Can you post some photos?

"Recent changes to the Vehicle Emissions Inspection Law of 2005 provide that vehicles of model year 1995 and older that are in compliance with the law as of February 1, 2007, will no longer be subject to emissions testing."

So this includes 1995 which makes sense since OBDII is 96+. This is great, I'll never have to swap out my test pipes again.

Aha! Now it makes all sense: I remember the Twins referencing a Tribune article on here stating that 95 and older cars that passed the test will no longer be tested.

Somebody else also mentioned that the dyno rolls are all but gone.

Mhhm, I can just see the news in a few months -
'the stocks of ear plug manufacturers skyrocket as
one of the unintended consequences of the new emissions regulations
is a swarm of Ferrari drivers terrorizing the city
with Tubi cries of FREEEEEDOM @ 5k+ RPM.

... You have to understand, these cars have been suffocated
by EPA regulations since birth, that's nearly 30 years,
thus ... this is a SONG of freedom'

    >Somehow my 308 suddenly feels terribly underwinged. :)

    Countach wing.
    Wings -> prizes ;)

Ok, I would take the wing off + put on the original wheels,
but the car looks great -- and a very good deal.

+1, though the car is very nice in all other regards.

Also, Andreas doesn't need any wing competition. I just hope he doesn't try to one-up Gino!

Somebody just exposed my strategy. :)

Is it really a Countach wing? Not that I dispute it, just curious.

I was looking at my Koenig catalog from the eighties where they did all kinds of crazy things to the Ferraris of that time (Anybody remember the Koenig Competition? Fastest car on the planet at its time, beating a F40 handsomely.). But the wing is definitely NOT a Koenig wing.

    Ahh, gorgeous! All of it.

It is a strange cultural divide that I have witnessed between people from Europe (e.g. Germany) and the US: In the States the purists prevail and adding a wing to a Ferrari is very bad taste. Whereas in Europe things are taken a lot easier and often people ship their new Ferraris from the dealer straight to a tuner (Veredler) for improvements. It goes without saying that I adore the works of Zehnder, Koenig, Gemballa, Hamann, Rinspeed etc. Over here folks call that rice.

Back in the eighties a rich friend of mine got a brand new TR. First order of business was to send it off to a shop to cut the roof off. That wasn't considered strange or sacrilege, but the right thing to do.
