....with happiness" was Kimi's comment of his feelings as he crossed the finish line in Brazil and was informed of Hamilton's finishing position. Raikkonen finally put his guard down and showed another side of the Iceman in an interview for Autosport.com.

He referred to Ferrari as "the greatest team of all times" and went on to say "This year I enjoyed Formula One more than ever before".

He contined to thank Massa "as the perfect teammate".

Well worth the read at www.autosport.com

We're lucky his heart didn't burst into flames because the Iceman would have melted.

Luca has said that he will give him a "gift". Special one off FXX? I just wish the FIA would hurry up with the appeal so we can put that behind us.

I thought counting down the last laps in Brazil was torture, this is worse. Although I don't expect the appeal to go through, it's still bugging the hell out of me. Everytime I read some celebration story I think "what if the appeal goes through..."

I'm not worried. The FIA would be strung up if they took the title away now. I highly doubt they will do anything stupid like that. Still, I'm not putting away the rabbit's foot just yet...

    Thanks Ron.
Seemed to be a pretty big shot across the bow as to how the mclaren operation is run. Remember that Kimi was Ron's favourite son. Something is seriously wrong in Ron's world when your favoured driver says he's happier at Ferrari.
I bet Fernando Alonso was cursing himself once he heard Kimi say that.

I was very happy to hear Kimi, say that he was elated and he succeeded in his wildest dreams, of winning his F1 Championship, with Ferrari! We know the man has "Fire in his Soul," but his emotions....were a joy for all of us to see, and enjoy the Victory and Championship, with him!

    BRAVO KIMI!

    Ciao...Paolo

i'm not worried about the appeal thing. because, it's not gonna happen. Kimi and the whole Ferrari team worked hard for this, and they're the champions this year. period.

look at variosu F1 sites, no one seems to bother reporting much about Mac's appeal, yet many are praising Kimi and and Massa, and the whole Ferrari team.

I was stunned (pleasantly) at KR's comments during the press conference after the race, and the obvious joy that he showed on the podium. My God, he actually spoke more than 3 sentences in a row! I guess that puts to rest DC's comment that KR is "dead from the feet up."

    Nice complements from Peter Sauber

    http://www.speedtv.com/articles/auto/formulaone/41233/

Peter Sauber has paid tribute to newly crowned World Champion Kimi Raikkonen, who was given his Grand Prix debut by the Swiss team boss back in 2001.

Sauber stunned the F1 world when he put his faith in a rookie who came straight out of Formula Renault, and even went against the wishes of sponsor Red Bull. He was repaid when Kimi contributed to a fourth place finish in the constructors’ championship, and even more so when McLaren bought the Finn out of his contract.

“I am very happy for him,” Sauber told SPEEDtv.com. “For the last five years he was not so happy, and I think he was able to be World Champion twice during that time. I think he’s an excellent driver. The speed has always been there, but he’s an even better driver now.”

Sauber says he has always has a good relationship with Raikkonen, and insists that he is not the person that most people assume he is.

“He’s a very, very special person. I like him and I accept him. Normally he’s cool and introverted, but he can be emotional. For example when he is together with his friends – especially his friends from Finland!”

I like Kimi and his post race comments but I have to disagree - that was just one long sentence! J/K of course as his English is much better than my Finnish ever will be.

BTW - that is a great quote from DC. Not sure that it applies; but it is a great one liner.

DC and Kimi are pretty much the opposite. DC is articulate but can't really perform on the track consistently, while Kimi can't/won't really speak (at least in English) but lets his performance speak on the track...

Needless to say DC is part his prime while Kimi is on the up.

Kimi's interview was very good but it seems a bit scripted. Maybe it was done in Finish as we all know Kimi does use such long articulate phrases in the English language. :)
