Enclosed car trailers, do more harm than good?

    I shipped on an open rack semi Wilmington, Delaware to Dallas Tx. They got it done on schedule at about 1/4 the cost of a private enclosed trailer - but this was about a $50,000 car; not a $150,000 + car.

    Car was pretty well road filthy as expected, but no evidence of trailer rash.

    Also, the lady at the trucking company said two things to remember: If you must ship open; pick the very front spot at the front of the lower level. It is the most protected.

    However, if you have a convertible with a cloth top, go for an upper spot which is not all the way in front - cars above you on the lower level can drop fluids on your top...
