It was the end of Porsche. Here in LA Porsches are now a dime a dozen and are driven by people who a generation ago were driving Lexus or perhaps BMW. Perhaps this explains why air cooled 911s, including the 993, retain so much more of their value than the new Porsches and why, saying you drive a "Porsch" doesn't mean what it used to. This is the direction Ferrari is going as well.

I live in Beverly Hills, I've been a lambo guy for years, I decided to go low profile and bought a f12 with no badges-silver. I drive it around the Westside completely unnoticed. It's exactly the same driving experience as my Jetta was(lemoned it last year).

I realize in Oklahoma City that in a f12 I'd stand out, I get it. Point is in LA Ferrari is so common it's not noticed at all.

In fact if I jump into my 2 door 1997 S600 (the CL style not SL) more people notice that car. This isn't a exaggeration, the f12 goes unnoticed while the old Benz gets the thumbs up even from the tour buses full of vacation people.

The saturation of Ferrari in LA is complete, I'm sure a LaF would turn heads. My Enzo did 10 years ago. But production Ferrari are like Prius now.

Being noticed is not so good, but each to his own.

Even worse the drivign experience is mostly unoticeable, unless you are going 9/10th or more, might as well be in your jetta.

maybe the alfa DNA will infuse ferrari with less exclusivity and more lithe alive drivign fun, that would be a bonus.

I visited our local Alfa dealer in San Diego, and they had two 4Cs, both marked up well beyond MSRP, neither available for a drive, both being hawked as investments.

I lost interest before I left the dealer.

I agree. Porsche is now thoroughly mass market, and Ferrari would be other than the absence of an affordable entry level car.
