    Gun folks,

    What would be the reason for a shotgun with such a barrel? I can't think of one good reason for it. All the powder burns after 16" of barrel length, so it has nothing to do with energy, right? Is it arginal improvement in accuracy, at the expense of shot energy, that is the goal of this contraption?

    The article was in last month's Guns Magazine. I believe the reason the guy came up with an extra long barrel was to allow for pest bird control in a residential area. Apparently, it reduces noise "to the level of a loud cardoor slam" and improves accuracy.
    I don't think he's a flake because he got Briley to manufacture the extensions, and the article mentions that these are now offered in Cabela's and the likes.
    Probably a good goose gun:)
