Time to get the ring. Unfortunately I'm having a devil of a time finding what I'm looking for. And I thought it would be simple. All I'm looking for is a 1ct. radiant emerald cut solitaire Vs1 or higher with a color of g or higher, mounted in a white gold band. No one seems to have the radiant version, just the regular (boring) emerald cut. Can anyone recommend some place to try? I prefer a "real" jeweler as opposed to a mall chain store type. I'm in North Florida if that helps any. Thanks guys!

I don't have a line on a good jeweler for you. I just wanted to say congrats. Knowing exactly what you want should make things easier.

Thanks! Well guys, it's not what I want, but it's what she has subtley hinted at for the past few months. Me being able to pick up on these subtle hints helps our relationship immeasureably. And she picks up on mine. Like when i say I will have a 308 within 5 years. Subtle enough, don't you think? :)

Truthfully, this wil be a little more than i planned to spend, but I only plan on doing this once in my lifetime and she's worth eleventybillion times more than this rock is worth.

Please clarify "it's not what I want, but what she has subtley hinted at for the past few months."

Do you mean the ring style isn't what you want, or do you do not really want to get engaged/married? Cause if it's the latter, maybe you oughta rethink the whole ring thing! :D

LOL, yeah I guess I should clarify. The ring style isn't what I would have chosen. The engagement is something I most definitely want.

LOL! I read it as you weren't really into getting married. Good thing you cleared that up, or else I would have suggested you put that money to the 308!

All the best on your search for an appropriate ring, and your marriage!

Finally found it! 1.03ct, F, VVS1, radiant emerald cut in tiffany style 4-prong platinum setting. www.adiamor.com. Called them up and Maggie was great to work with. Approx $6k out the door. Not too shabby if I say so myself. And 30 day unconditional return/repair/exchange.

    SCORE!!!!!

Congrats, that's an excellent deal/price. Please take the time to do something special, romantic and clever.....you don't get to do this very often.

Btw, your better-half was on her forum asking her friends where she can get a ring that has a tracking device and some form of electric shock administered if you look at another woman and your pulse rises ;)

OUCH, my ring just gave me a shock!!! (I've said too much)

Thanks. I'm happy with the purchase and that's (almost) all that matters. I plan on asking in one month at my birthday party. All of my friends and hers should be there and it would be the last thing on her mind on that day.
