    A friend of mine is looking for an Engagement Ring. His budget is a grand. I've heard Sam's is the best place to find a low priced ring. I have talked to another friend who used to work in a Jewelry store and she told me it is hard to find something in a normal jewelry store for that price.

    Anyone know of a good place to take him? I was thinking about Ramsey's. I have been told that they don't certify their stones but I don't think they are really worried too much about the stone as long as it looks decent. I was even thinking about suggestion CZ to him.

    I just got off the phone with my friend. He does want certified stones and is wondering if rings come with a warranty of any type.

    We are going to go over to Franco's place soon. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Ike, For a friend huh?

    Just joking. I'm with the one I want and marriage has been on my mind alot lately. I'm 27, she's 24, we're great together, she's a beautiful lady and she feels the same as I do. We joke about her proposing to me if I don't get off my rump, so maybe it would't hurt to take a ride to Valbora's this weekend. Has your bud told you or though of how he is going to propose?

    There's Antons in Baton Rouge but i think they're going to be a little pricey. And I don't really want to go to Zales or Freidmans, Bailey Banks or Lee Michaels, kinda want to be a little more personal and get a good deal. Not sure which is cheaper. I'd imagine the above have "mall prices" attached.

    I didn't put places like Lee Michaels, Aucoin Hart, Adler's on the list b/c I've always been told that they were a bit over priced on diamonds. I've bought my watches at Adler's and they have always been great but I figured with his rather low budget he would have a hard time finding something there.

    He kind of wants something original as well. I told him about the ring that Kelly mentioned at Franco's place and he wants to go look at it. I think I am going to take him around hopefully in the next few days. We are going to look at a few mall places so he can get an idea of all the different styles that are out there. I think he may be interested in getting something custom made but I don't know how that would work with his budget. I don't really know about the costs involved with rings and diamonds so.....

    Good luck and congrats JP. My friend and his fiance have talked about it a lot and basically say they are engaged. I'm guessing that once he has the ring he would make a proper proposal. I'm sure he would come up with something original. I'll let you know how it goes. Are you needing ideas? lol
