The NAPA # 704 1356 copper washer is a perfect fit for the early (carbureted) 308 gearbox drain plug. Is there a corresponding copper washer for the engine sump drain plug available from NAPA or other local parts houses?

On my 1977 308 GT4 they're all the same. Engine sump, gearbox drain, gearbox overflow / fill, transfer case drain and transfer case fill. 22mmx27mmx1.5mm.

Is this a trick question? AFAIK, the 308 can use the same copper washer for both (22mm ID) -- although F specs different part numbers in various places for a 28 mm OD versus a 27mm OD IIRC.

If you've got something very different than those sizes, maybe you had some sort of "repair"?

Thank you both for replying. And, no, Steve, it's not a trick question--I apologize if it sounded that way. I just wanted to make sure that the gearbox washers I have on hand also fit the engine drain plug. Now I know not only that but the other plugs GT4 points out. Already got plenty on hand.

You can use the old again if you annealed them to red hot w blowing torch

I've been re-annealing for 15 years or so on my 3 F-cars. Works like a damn.
