so apparently there are two panes of glass that separates us from the engine . I bought the 430 three monrhs ago and saw that the glass was dirty. went to clean it yesterday and realized the dirt is inbetween the two panes of glass,,, now what ??

Hmmm...I will check mine when home tonight, but I clean the glass (top and underneath) all of the time and have never once noticed an issue (or that it is doublepaned) Any chance the owner before you replaced the glass with non OEM or something?

Known issue on 2008 and 2009. Nothing you can do except replace the rear window. Here is the kicker. You can't get the seal (part# 63354600) needed to do this as it is NLA. Call your local ferrari dealer and ask them to call the factory for the seal. Make sure they have your VIN# because if enough of us request the seal they can put it back in production. Ferrari did this with F430 bumpers... they put them back in production.

Roger...sorry your title read "glass engine compartment dirty" so I assumed you meant the engine glass

There is a guy on Facebook who just went through replacing the glass today. If you are on FB his name is JR Lemans. He posted an explanation and some pics. JR says find 360 glass instead of 430 glass

What did he do about the seal? Technically the 360 and 430 are the same glass but there was a part substitution after the old stock was supplied. Using the older “used” 360 glass is a good idea since this problem only seems to be on the later 430’s. I guess you can also use Scud glass which is a different part, but they don’t even list the seal for it at all, and no one can tell me of the seal is included in that part. I’m guessing the scud glass is thinner.
