F8 Engine Compartment Lid Won’t Latch

    Over the weekend I just took delivery of my F8. When I got home I opened the engine compartment to cool off the engine and when I tried to close the lid it wouldn’t latch. I pushed down with both hands over the latch area with my weight behind me and it just wouldn’t latch. Has anyone had this problem and, if so, what was the solution? Thanks for any replies!

    Same thing here. I just drop it from a height to close it. *shrugs*

    Not positive with your particular latch but occasionally on my BMW the mechanism gets stuck in the closed position. Won’t allow the pin to insert into the latch.

    release the latch in the car, locate the claw shaped latch in the engine compartment, place a Phillips head screw driver under the claw and pull up. The claw should release and open. The pin side should be able to drop into the claw and close now. May need some lubrication.
