Anybody have a clue what the engine compartment lights might be priced at? Clearly, now they are back to 'unobtainium status' ... Thank you. Regards, Alberto
How about showing a picture or two of one ? I (and perhaps others ?) have various period light fixtures, but don’t know Dinos that well.
Looks like injection molded plastic housing ? If so, someone with a 3D printer or abilities to injection mold them along with time and money to lose...
I reproduced these a few years back. Took almost 3 years to get a perfect part and I'll never do it again. The assembly is actually quite complex and is made up of 15 pieces. Took me over an hour each to hand assemble and (not counting my time) I lost a bunch of money doing it. To make things worse the original design is quite poor and cannot be improved upon. By far the most difficult part to source in the whole restoration. NOS lights (if you can find them) are a minimum of $1K USD nowadays.
I hear you. I've done countless similar reproduction parts projects for various cars, but being a slow learner and somewhat of an optimist with unrealistic expectations of thinking most vintage car owners want things done right and in quality, I continue to pour and lose time and money on more...
Thank you all! The reason I am posting, is a fellow has been chasing me to buy an engine compartment light, but I have lost him in the maelstrom of mails, messages, virus, etc. I was stuck back home, finally managed to fly out and have 1 light available, courtesy of the Carbonio Bros. endeavor. I remember the days Regards, Alberto
