    Hi,

The stay hinge ass'y on my '77 308 GTB broke. The stay moves right when the engine cover is opened, and left when closing.

The hinge ass'y is the hard plastic piece attached to the under side of the engine cover (bonnet).

To remove it, I removed the 2 10mm screws, but the plastic part did not come off.
Is there a trick, or it just needs some force? (which I hesitate to use to avoid damage).

Any advice is welcomed. Thank you,

*Check the condition of your engine stay ass'y. If it fails, the engine cover is quite heavy and may cause damage to you or your Ferrari...

The part attached to the rear cover should come off. It is only held on by the two screws. Try gently tapping it side to side and front to back. Tap it on the large rectangular base, not the round part extending down.

There are three parts to the hinge. What part is broken? Pictures?

The part came off easily after a couple of light taps.
I've inquired to GT Car Parts if the have the part that broke. Their stay-fork would attach to the part that broke (photo attached). Thanks for the tips.
