Apparently, this is supposed to be ok? There is a good 1/4 inch gap on left side panel fit and perfectly flush on the right. Am I being too fussy? This is my first mid engine Ferrari and have been blessed with superb build quality on my previous 2013, 2017 Californias. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
If you adjust that, would it throw off the alignment with the bottom panel? Or maybe adjust both? Ray
Too fussy is not for anyone to say. Your car, your expectations, your money. Me, I wouldn't worry. It would just go on a list of things to look at when its next in, like my noisy AC fan. I do like that these forums are not full of faults/snags and there must be as many as any other car. We must be the nicest owners
We are talking about gap A vs B here correct? Totally unacceptable panel alignment if you ask me. My 1990 pickup truck w/ over 400K miles and that's been through a front end collision has less panel gap. Ray Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Im fussy 100%. I get the award for the longest "check out the condition of the car "at delivery. About 2 hrs Pointed out there and then the 2 issues. Carpet under the glovebox and the little black triangle behind the the drivers door mirror. Both fixed. Had the car jacked up and looked underneath the car. Measured paint thickness and panel gaps. Im sick , i know But i was super excited the paint was flawless.
You are lucky with the paint. I've had paint issues on my current and previous Ferrari's. It's annoying that they can't paint a car properly.
The paint was my biggest fear. The dealer knows me well in the fact im very knowledgeable with paints. Given i design resins that are used. They knew if there was some issue i basically would lose money and not take the car. I've seen a few really bad paint jobs with the standout when i went for my first year service they asked me to look at a Pista that came in with a paint run down the passenger door. WTF how the hell they let this car leave the factory. That day was a real eye opener. Sadly i was the main reason I also didn't upgrade to the F8 I just couldn't go through it again. I know many people wouldn't car but unfortunately that's my weakness. BTW needless to say when the car goes in for service i tape a big sign in and outside the car on the windscreen DO NOT WASH CAR and inside DO NOT CLEAN INTERIOR.
This used to be me 110%. Always the same, regardless of value, my cars, wife's, daughters. However, somehow, for reasons I honestly can't explain, Ferrari has set me free from this. Makes no sense at all. 812 picked up some stone damage on the mechanics shake down run, before I collected, I was OK about it. F8 has two chips on the rims and countless on the rear section side sills (who was it that said to PPF them @MANDALAY ??), I'm not too stressed. .....makes no sense.
I have to say your strong. I know it doesn't make sense but that's why so many PPF their cars also. A chip on my daily and its nothing . On my pride and joy I will cringe. PPF like insurance gives you a bit of peace of mind
Yea, My CLS 63S has a few battle scars chips, bless its heart. That thing has been outrageously good to me. Best car I have had so far. Thinking about it, I have had real good luck with all my cars. Maybe because I take great care of them.
