question 1- does anyone use fuel additives in a 360? As 95 octane is reccommended it does not burn as clean as using higher octane fuels, so perhaps additives can help keep it clean?

question 2- Has anyone decoked a 360 engine by pouring fuel treatment into the spark plug holes, leaving to soak overnight, replacing plugs and firing up? I have seen this can be done with lots of other cars, just wondering if it could be detrimental to a ferrari.

question 1 - Never, I buy premium gas from a reputable brand station that has "good" additatives like Techron and I use Stabil in the gas if the car won't be driven for long periods. Maybe, if I were in a country were I couldn't get what might be considered good quality gas and had to add something like Techron separately.

question 2 - Never, why in the world would you think you need to do that to a 360?

Step 2 sounds like a good way to bend a rod.....unless you get the cleaning agent completly out of the combustion chamber before you reinstall the plugs the cylinder on compression stroke will hydraulic lock and do internal damage, bent rod, cracked piston. Especially on a high compression engine. Anybody that has been around radial aircraft engines (old guys) will verify this. It happens on the first stroke of the piston while cranking the engine.

Sometimes carbon build up is due to the motor not being revved up enough basically babied where carbon isn't properly burned during combustion...in any case try Gumout Regane fuel additive...really cleans everything out! I used it from my 270HP Civic Supercharged SI, 580HP Supercharged E46 M3, 700HP 996TT, and F430 with great success!
