I was out for a drive yesterday and I came up on a red light. While coasting at ~20mph I pulled both paddles back to put it in neutral like I always do in preparation for stopping. The car went into neutral fine, but the engine also completely died or stalled. It didn't stall when I came to a stop, it literally stalled while I was coasting. There were no warning lights on the dash or anything.

Thankfully it fired right back up and the rest of my drive was totally fine. I was curious if anyone else has ever experienced this? Could it be an early sign of bad things to come?

Hey Mitzimoto, I was out in my 360 for the first time on Friday and did something similar. However, my engine continued to run but the transmission would not go back into 1st without stopping or applying the brake. I think it's one of the logic switches in the system. Who knows why your engine quit. It may be a failsafe measure to prevent engine or clutch damage. Maybe just stalled? I'm still learning how to start the car reliably. I moved the car back and forth yesterday to detail the side skirts in the garage. A couple times I forgot the sequence. Always hit the key fob when you sit down and make sure you see the red triangle warning light to crank with caution. ;)

I also pull N very often when coasting to a stop at a red light, and have never encountered a stall or shutdown. Just wanted to let you know as I suspect most people don't routinely use N. Your issue sounds anecdotal. I wouldn't be concerned, but if it happens again, I'd consider a checkout.

And the electrical component could just be a glitch or corrosion. Didn't wash the engine or the wheels wells recently. My 348 cut out on me going around a turn about 8 miles after leaving home heading to storage last fall. I was sure it was the engine wash. I even covered the coils and wires with plastic. Sometimes water will swish around the drain channels and drop where it hurts the most. Just guessing for you right now but I knew exactly why the motor cut out on me in the 348 after the wash. Started right back up standing still.
