    I'm sending these engine cover gas strut brackets off to be refinished, does anyone know what colour they were OEM? Not sure if they were painted black like the cover underside, or if they were unpainted metal?

    Where the brackets meet the chassis and lid, they are a sort of grey colour on both Chassis and bracket. (See photo)

    Car is a '79 carb.

    Much appreciated as ever!
