My “new” 360 has a problem
The engine lid latch opens just fine
    Just won’t fully latch
    It was fine until today
When I push the latch down with my fingers it almost holds
    Any ideas
    Thanks

    Did fix it
Took the cover off the latch mechanism, lubed it generously and it works.
Only problem is that I dropped my 1/4” socket wrench into the engine compartment. Can’t see it but it is likely on the bottom cover.
I hope that cover can be removed.

Use a long flexible magnetic grabber tool. It's sitting on the diffuser or under tray. I have experience.

I got one at Sears years ago. It has a powerful magnetic on the end of a flexible shaft and it has a built in light. It's perfect for finding dropped bolts, washers (non-copper) and tools. I'll post a photo of it tomorrow. I'm sure you can find something similar on Amazon or Harbor Freight. On the Ferrari with the under-trays and diffuser it saves having to unbolt either or both just to recover a part or tool.

I'm seriously thinking of buying one of those flexible cameras that archeologists use to look into small spaces. I have an LED lost somewhere under the headlights that I have yet to find.

I just found one on Amazon for $59.98. It has four LEDs and a magnet on the end.

Vividia 9mm Portable Digital Flexible Inspection Camera with 2.4" color LCD Monitor.

It would be best to find it now while you have a bearing on the location. If you drive it might end up someplace else Over the years I have racked up hours wasted trying to find things that have succumbed to gravity in that engine bay! I know all the hiding places now!

Ah just read where it went. A strong magnet tool and poke it around and I'm sure you'll get it back, plus not knowing if it is in the shift linkage is worry.

    Good advice
If I had a lift I could remove the bottom cover. I suspect (and hope) that it would just fall out

I doubt it, more danger of the item falling out and getting truly lost. The diffuser is the finned under-tray on the back of a 430.

    Thanks,
At worst I lose a 1/4” ratchet with a 7mm socket. I did order a magnet on a flexible 25” handle and a led lit mirror on a 34” stalk. I’ll find the damn tool!
