    I have a 1997 355 spyder, and yhe engine lite came on, does anyone know what could possible be the reason?

    It could be any of dozens of possible things. The ONLY way to find out is to connect an OBDII scanner to your car, and read out all the codes. Post them here, and we can assist with the diagnosis.

    It is important that in order for a standard OBDII scanner to work on your car, that you make sure the "service campaign" was performed on your car to bring the OBDII connection port in line with federal standards. As originally configured, only the Ferrari SD1 and SD2 scanners would work. Call any Ferrari dealer with your VIN to confirm the work was performed on your car. Schedule an appointment, it only takes 15 minutes to complete.
