Hi all. I have a 2015 458. It's been running great and had it's inspection in May. I was showing the car to some friends and turned on the engine and left it idling. I opened up the back hood to show the engine. As my friends were leaning over, we were all startled by a quick buzz like sound. It was loud and didn't last more than a second or so. It happened a second time a few minutes later, but not again.

I would describe it as maybe the fan was hitting something for a short period of time. It seemed to happen randomly and only twice.

Has anyone else with a 458 had this issue? I'm not sure if I can drive it or if I should have the dealer pick it up.

    Thank you!

Just heard from the dealer. It's normal. Fuel pump in idle will do this sometimes. It has something to do with jacking up the pressure when in idle. It can be pretty loud apparently when you are next to the engine. Interesting. Curious if others have heard this. It's like someone putting plastic in bicycle spokes, but just for half a second.
