Hi guys, I am living in Belgium and cannot seem to find anywhere AGIP engine oils as recommended by Ferrari for my 348! Any advice on a good alternate if I can't find AGIP here? I live close to Bruxelles.
Agip is an ok brand but most others have had much more development the last decennias I suppose. For me there is only one oil. Mobil1 fully synthetic 0W40. I had it always in my 348tb and now in my F360 modena. NO oilconsumption! Neither with the 348. Try that with Shell oil, ha! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ok, my last moment in this topic. For all Ferrari's in normal European use 10W40 was recommended. For racing on a circuit (oil temp >100C) something thicker would be better ? Using a thicker W60 oil will rise your oil pressure with 0,5/1 bar at certain circumstances but I think the oil microfilm layer protecting and cooling your engine is more important ? But hey, who am I ? There have been 1000 threads about oil in the USA section
I really don't know about these things just asked: www.forzaservice.nl, but I know how to read the text on the package they gave me.
Thanks guys; finally went for the Mobil1 fully synthetic 0W40. It'll have enough time to go around the system tomorrow at Spa
You are a genius my friend! I bought it and topped up my engine with a litre (since my Italian mechanic adises to always do this every 1000 km). Now it's either my imagination or I don't know, but the difference I noticed driving (to & in Spa) in performance is incredible following 'such a small change'. Thanks again man and I'd loved to have met you at spa; didn't know you'd be there! It'll be another time.
Thats what I told my mates when I filled the 348tb up with it. A small noticable increase of power. Mobil1 Glad you are happy and we will meet again (my former 1993 348tb #96005) Image Unavailable, Please Login
A real change, and to think it was only a one-litre top-up! Even the sound is a bit different - brilliant man. I really am happy. By the way, what were you driving at Spa?
