Just started yesterday and tried to tidy up in the garage because of the "engine out winter project".......... The first question popped up before I even started...........pls look at the attached photo, which is stolen from Paul by the way. Do I have to take the ECU units off completely or is there room enough to get the connectors out anyway? Rgds, //B// Image Unavailable, Please Login
When I clean the connectors with the contact cleaner I always ended up taking the ECU's out, it's just 2 nuts, maybe you can do it without but why take the chance to bend the pins when trying to re-plug it back after ?
Hi Bengt, Take them right out and store them in a dry place til your ready to put the lump back in. One of the most difficult tasks (besides lining up the the large top rad hose) during the reinstall will be fishing those gromets back through the firewall. Keep us posted on your progress. I might pull the lump out on mine and do the oil chain and associated parts this winter...
Guess I will start coming week end with the help of Ernie and Paul........ Will keep you posted......... All the best, //B//
