    greetings......

i have my 1990 in for a major service... check out the beast. not every day you see the engine out of its shell.

looking forward to getting it back... in addition to the other normal engine out things, it is getting:

    -new front calipers
    -injectors cleaned
    -new tires
    -water pump

What would really be helpful is knowing ...what is everyone paying these days for the "basic engine out". No water pump, clutch...just basic.

$7700 at the local Ferrari dealer. No clutch, no water pump, plus 200% markup on the supplies!

the dealership quotes $8-12k for the service depending on
What they find. I suppose if the tensioners are ok it is $8k ?

Tensionners??? I hope they've include it in the service price at $8000. Those are a MUST DO when doing the service no matter how they are. New belts = new tensionners. I'm doing this even on my old KIA :)

When I did my engine out! The belts looked good, but one of the tensioners was showing signs of end of life. Happy I caught it in time!
