Maybe the turbo in the F1 car 25-30 years ago in qualifying trim or the Indycar that never raced

The 3.0 Litre V10s made 950 HP +/- at the end of their development.
The 1.5 Litre V6 Turbos made 1000 HP +/- in race trim and maybe as much as 1400 HP +/- in qualifying trim.
There are a few dual Turbo TRs that have 1000 HP +/- motors in them.

I beleive the F-1 turbo's from 86 were the most powerful... quali trim - 1,350 HP could go up to 1500 but not reliable at all.

After 86, the fuel regulations and pop off valves started to bring the HP levels down....

Mostly they raced at 850-950 HP... the V-10 Atmo engines were probabbly the most powerful non turbo engines out there made by the factory.

there are Koneig twin turbo testarossa engines with 1100 - 1200 HP but those did not come from the factory like that.

Ferrari had a design for an 18 cyl engine that was thought of for CAN AM but when the 7 liter car did nothing Enzo pulled out to focus on F-1 & the 312PB's.

As far as production street cars are concerned, I think the new F12 has the most hp at 740.

The new F12 has easy potential to produce 1,500 HP
with the right turbo package. This would ne relatively
small money(keep in mind the list prrice....) to accomplish.

You can bet that Mr. Hefner in Sarasota is thinking about it.

Based on the information available, I think you could do it
sort-of inexpensively with some off-the-shelf parts.

    1) Better con rods - just for insurance
    2) low-compression pistons allow higher boost
    3) Available turbo's for under $2,000 each.
    4) intercooler systems for about the same cost
    5) up-rate the fuel and control systems, $10,000

Doing it yourself, you could have the first STREET
1,500 HP Ferrari, for the MSRP and under $30,000.

Plus, you have your own personal warantee !
