I am installing a 2 quart preoiler system in my 1982 308 GTSi and must select the correct pressure valve. The system says to select the valve that will actuate the system at the normal idle pressure of the engine ( I have mine set at the recommended 1000 rpm ). Does anyone know the idle pressure at 1000 rpm ? The oil pressure gauge in my car works fine but is not well calibrated.

Together with this, I assume I can use the 3/4 inch oil filter adapter to connect the system to my engine.

I like accusumps on my cars cause they sit too much. Please give full details on your install, there is no better way to start then turning that handle and hearing 2qts pressing thru the motore. The old 512 sports racer owners manual is reprinted inan old Cavalino,to start, remove spark plugs, tow 5 miles in 5th gear, start.I just had my lower oil pan off but I am going to pull again and get the baffle in there also.

I put my first on a 330 GTC in 1982,and have had one on others, mounted where the battery went, they have a simple valve like on a water tank, when you park you pop the bonnet and fast idle the motor and close the valve, thus you have oil pressure of 2000 rpm, full pressure. When you start open valve and dont hurry and let it crank a bit, then fire it off.I assumed that the open accusump adds time to the oil pressure depletion time, like it gives the oil pressure a little more pressure as it the rpm fall and it doesnt just activate in a oh oh real low oil pressure.Accusumps run open stabilize oil pressure, and when you blast up but miss the light, you look at the guage and the pressure falls gently.I would not use that gizmo valve.
