Are there any common or known engine problems with the 456 GT (cambelts slipping, valve problems, etc). Would appreciate any insights. Thanks Higgins23

I have owned my 456GT for over 4 years and the engine is rock solid and bullet proof IMHO. The only thing I have done is the service requirements and had to change one A/C belt that broke.

The only thing I've known of is that the engines tend to run hot... I just got mine back from the shop for a full tune-up... other than the O2 sensors acting up and a slight adjustments on my windows, the only thing I had to replace were the engine mounts... There are 3 known fixes for the engine running hot (approved by FNA) and only one of three don't require mechanical fixes to the car...

Other than that, I'm with MB - the car is solid.

Never seen anything go worng mechanicly with an engine in a 456. Very well built and tough unit. Like others have stated though they do run hot but as along as BOTH your fans are working really not a big issue...unless your stuck in traffic in 100 degree heat with the a/c running full tilt..then you in trouble in anycar.
