5 engines for 17 more races? That doesn't sound good!

I really wish the FIA would at least allow one engine per race. They say they want to spice up the show but they're encouraging endurance runs rather than sprints...

I think this warrants some attention. Its not good. Hopefully the Ferrari powerplants will be holding up. The other Ferrari powered teams seem ok for now.

The engines that were replaced are still usable as they have not blown up. Ferrari can use them for practice in future races and even in future races. No need to sound the surrender warning.

I've always felt this rule is stupid. Can't we just let the best cars and drivers in the world RACE?

If we wanted to play Monopoly or Stratego, we can go to Toys R Us.

They have 5 fresh engines remaining for the next 17 races... surely they can evaluate the condition of the engines they've already used and select the ones they feel most appropriate to upcoming tracks to use again? :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Exactly, the engines are rotated based on track conditions and track. Old ones are frequently used one Fridays until near or actual failure as if one should grenade there's no penalty aside from one less engine for the rest of the year.

just have a question. Can the old engines be torn down, inspected and freshened up. Or do they remain all buttoned up?

This sort of cost cutting may just bankrupt the sport.

    Interesting - This I didn't know:

The way I read that is once I've used it I can only use it in practice thereafter - Not in quali or a race...... Hmmmm

    Cheers,
    Ian
