    Wondering for those of you who use your FF daily, DD, track, aggressive driving , traffic etc

    What temperature range are you observing, how high does the gage go when in traffic?, how about track use?, DD?

    My previous cars BMW, Mercedes, Porsche barely moved, but the FF can vary from 175 F to 210-215F

    Sorry, I don't have an FF but I remember seeing something like that range for my F12 in traffic. Not sure of the highest reading but once you get going it drops pretty quickly. Hope this helps.

    The range of temps you're seeing are what I've seen in ours on everything from long drives across hot deserts at speed, in depressingly stuck traffic in Los Angeles basin and other hot areas, and after repeated sessions of thrashing it on a race track. Never seems to go over 215, and once warmed up, never goes below 175, no matter how hot or cold outside, or hard or soft I drive it. The fans and the thermostats just manage to deal with it all in a really wide range of conditions. At about 30K miles, I've almost stopped looking at temps its so predictable.

    Oil pressure is also "interesting" to watch as it varies with revs and temps, but after a while, you'll find it also stays within a range.

    So that must be the optimal :) temps range, as designed from factory. Just no need to compare Ferrari high revving high output engine with other car makes, because it's different of course.
    If in a doubt, I'd always consult your user's manual.

    The German cars keep the temperature needle in a fixed position as long as the temp. is within a normal range. If the engine starts to overheat it will suddenly jump to a high reading. In other words, their gauges don't show true temp. as long as the temp. is within that "normal" range.

    Very clever. All this time I thought it was just doing a tremendous job controlling temps. Same with the Japanese cars?
