The parts book suggests that a single aluminum cap sits over the left (driver in the U.S.) forward engine mount. Yet, the exhaust header sweeps much closer to the right side mount. Any thoughts? Which is correct?

It's always been on my Dino. That's where it needs the heat protection. Same on the Stratos.

In which position is your aluminum cap (shield)?

Jim, i have the single aluminium cap over the right front engine mount nearest the alternator. This is where it was when i had the car. The car had been looked after by a well know Dino specialist, so i guess it is correct. Certainly makes sense as that indeed is the closest point to the manifold.

Thanks Kevin - I agree that it makes sense to be on the right hand side, and my question arises from the Parts Catalog placing it on the LEFT hand side. In the absence of another post with compelling logic to the contrary, it shall find a soft landing spot on the right-hand side.

    Thanks.

Jim, Yes, the parts manual could well be wrong.....as posted in several places and experienced by myself, the mounts are not drawn the correct way up either.
