    Hey guys

    So I'm a bit scared.

The other day, as I was driving my Ferrari, I received an extremely audible noise coming out from the engine area.

I did a pass, and accelerated about to about 108mph (accelerated at maybe 3k-4k rpm; not a major throttle. No red-lights on my RPM gauge or anything), then boom, the sound kicked in.

The best way to describe it would be a flat-tire "flapping" in my engine bay kind-of-sound.

Has anyone ever drove on the freeway with their windows slightly open? And it makes a huge "air vacuum" kind of sound? That would be the best analogy as well.

    No engine lights. No failures.

If I don't throttle, the car drives fine. It's only under throttle.

    Thoughts? Possibly a failed cylinder?

If it is engine related you shouldn’t need to drive it on the road to get a sound. Just free rev it once it is warm in neutral.

You can pop the hood and look to see where it is coming from.

And look for anything loose in the engine bay.

Almost sounds like a broken motor mount. Could be an auxiliary belt slapping also.

Does it do it through the entire RPM range or just during acceleration or ?

Let's hope it's not a spun bearing or wrist pin :)

There may be an engine flap loose which is supposed to improve the aerodynamics of the car. These are on the bottom. May only show up at high speeds. Ciao Bella.

I have the same problem. What was the problem in the end?
