I knew the guy who built that car, Miles, I think he passed away a few years back. Nice guy ,always tinkering with it. Martin in Miami had that car for a little while. It would be nice to see it go to a good home

If the car has a proper cage and a good low hour motor it is not a bad deal. a gt4 is about 15-18k and then race parts can easily get you 10k more. So for 29 someone has done all the work for you...not bad if it is well sorted. If the PO did a hack job to make it a racer then you 1)overpay for thecar 2) have to do it all over again! So becareful and shoot use some pictures. I know something about rollcages/fire systems etc.. also realize that an old plastic seat/firesystem/5 point harness/windownets are basically of no value as they are disposeables that expire on a biannual level meaning replacement. So with a race car there are always new costs.

It would make a fun track day car,
but would get it's clock cleaned against modern GT2 cars.

I agree with Dave. Even my 348 with perhaps 320hp at the best at the crank and 2800-2900lbs at the best gets killed all day long...so I bought a Z06 just to get even. I still race the 348 but it is a slow pig. The 308 would be a toy. If it was in the full gutted out 2600lb neighborhood and 330hp to the wheels with a dialed in suspension it could be a 355C contender with a good driver. There are no datapoints with 328 transverse relocation and unknown suspension etc... And don't forget tires and wheels. Rubber makes the most difference of all. What can it run wheel and tirewise?

A friend of mine is the owner. It really is a track car; little of the "street" car left in it. Not as fast as a 355 Challenge, but with equal drivers, is about as fast as a 348 Challenge at tracks like Lime Rock.
