Dont see that often..definitely repairable. Beautiful car hope it lives again.. That 348 looks like an easy fix Copart Copart
Its rare to see a 355/348 thats repairable on there... I would think if the 348 is mechanically sound then its worth fixing
It probably went to a repair facility to dig in and see how bad it was before the insurance company could do a proper estimate. Fixable but is it worth fixing? I think absolutely, I mean the enzo that was wrecked years ago had its motor leave the car it was so bad of an accident, that car was repaired with a thread here on Fchat. Very interesting to see the car so naked!
Maybe Fast and Loud can "SAVE" the Enzo like they did the F40. Another well documented hatchet job by the Pro's at their facility would make for more great TV.
I believe the Enzo is the one crashed on I95 in CT by a Miller Motors technician back in June and was owned by Michael Fux.
The Enzo doesnt look as bad as the F40 did if I remember right... I have mentioned the 348 a cpl times seems there is no interest... I would like to see that car saved instead of being parted out
for it to be saved, someone is going to have to get for not much more than low $20k's. The numbers don't work very well when you can buy a fairly good car for around $30k to get into that one, invest in repairs and then have a car with a "story". Should be saved IMO, but the numbers have to work.
Why is it a "hatchet" job? An arbitrary standard set by yourself, because that isn't how you would want an F40? Or because the person who bought it stated the car was poorly repaired? Sonic and Mt.Dew have had them build cars for them. Pretty large clientele for a bunch of hacks. Legitimately wondering about the F40 and it's level of repair.
I had no idea you could get a 348 for low 30's I . If it is repaired they should keep pics and records of repair. This damage wouldnt scare me away if it was fixed right and the price was lowered to reflect it is a car with a history..
It'd have to be 20k ish to be worth it. I'd buy and turn it into a track car, tbh. Throw a used bumper on it, some challenge wheels and sell the good interior bits and go racing.
At any vehicle auction, you need to be certain that you are not buying someone else' consigned vehicle. If its not a direct insurance Co. sale, then it may belong to someone who has already done a number on it. You will find out after the fact that costly pieces are missing when it gets to your doorstep. Been buying from these sites for a very long time, believe me, I know.
I think they will both be going overseas with those prices If I had the cash I would go for the Enzo, seems to be an easy fix.
This months Forza has the article about intact, healthy Enzo the guy bought from Algar and had completely dismantled, redone as a frame off restoration in order to restore it to a better than like new condition. I would think due to the rarity of them that this car could also go through the same process, albeit more expensively, and return in better than original glory including value.
^^^ This for sure. On IAAI or Copart they usually say what insurance company it is being sold for. If not it's just someone using their services and you don't know what you will really get. Especially on Copart if it says "off site sale" The sellers send some pictures to copart then start stripping the car of parts. Expect MAFs, ECUs, Anything easy to pull and sell will be gone even if you see it in the auction picture. Even the insurance ones can get picked over by the body shops before release.
You can do the same with a 348 too, Fix it up better then new, but for some strange reason the salvage brand on the paperwork means a heck of a lot more on a 348 then an Enzo. Odd Strange how much it matters on one car and not another no matter how well it has been rebuilt. Just check out the for sale section for the salvage 348 for sale thread. Some people have been pretty disgusting in there about a decent looking car priced the same as the still damaged 348 this thread.
Check out Forza this month. I would think that restoring that Enzo will not just be a silly thing for TV. Someone will do this right and in the end the accident wont even matter in its value minus the cost to get it back to perfect. This car can be brought back to better than new. No problem. It might even be better than and unrestored example if done perfectly.
